Matt! How you be?

Satire is born of truths. I just wrap it up in as much nonsense as I can find. Today's lesson? This was one of my "Hey, it'll be okay (for many or most or some people). There exist gobs of hope in the last paragraph.

1. "In the end, the industry will adapt, evolve, and continue to sell us things we didn’t know we needed, now faster and more creepily accurate than ever." Translation: Nothing ever changes. It just gets different and funky.

2. "By embracing the changes brought on by AI, the advertising industry can not only survive but thrive in an increasingly digital world." Translation: The kids are alright. Everyone still makes money. There might be a re-distribution or trickle down of accounts from holding companies to regional/local holding companies formed by Private Equity (Barkley/OKRP comes to mind). This is always followed by re-consolidation ... to ... the ... large holding companies.

However - there is presently consolidation upstairs. Omnicom-IPG is a monster. This Frankenstein will form the world’s largest "ad agency," with 100,000 staff and $25 billion in revenue, aiming to go after Google and Meta in the AI-driven ad wars. That's huge, but not very exciting. And WPP is busy "rearranging the deck/desk chairs" as well to focus on AI. Not sure that's a plan but it's something to do.

So I'm thinking adding translation along the way might provide more value here in the long run. And then I can start charging! You've got me re-thinking things here at bit. That's a great thing. Give me a couple of days. Many thanks as always.

Anyone else ready to give up their cell phone and move into the woods? Mr Berry, if that is really you, Cyberdyne wants their plot back. Yeesh this is all getting unnerving.
