Hello!
AI Producering will be where I can safely post my AI experiments; good and bad. And awful ones too. Think of me as Frankenstein continually bringing his monster to life.
Following is the newbie Substack Q & A I must respond to.
1. Why? De-Mystify.
I’m taking a very basic look at what I discover regarding creative technology. Since I am not necessarily an advocate of AI, you will experience no persuasion or sales pitch on its merits. I love software toys and this is a huge one.
I believe I am a (half) decent writer. I also believe I need a central place to deposit all of my experiments with creative tech - especially AI and all of its permutations. My blogging began on my site but whilst working on my third post it dawned on me that all of these writings, these musings, felt abandoned. Lonely. Like kids of divorced parents.
Alternatives I saw to my lonely blog were LinkedIn, Medium, and this place. I know very little about Substack so like AI and other things that interest (or taunt) me, I chose to learn by doing. So here I am. I will be using AI tools create images, video, and copy. You cannot learn without using the tools.
2. What type of community am I hoping to create here?
I am a producer by trade so occasional post may skew toward production application. But for the most part I’ll try to topics of a more general interest.
I believe a community should define itself by its members. I prefer to respond to the group versus they to me. Perhaps this changes as I figure this thing out a bit more.
I’m looking for a place where I can learn by how people respond to my postings. To connect to and learn from others with shared interests of what is emerging all around us. Visual technology yes, but perhaps past those borders as well.
3. Here’s what you get.
Readers can expect one post each week. Mostly posting of visuals versus endless pages of … verse. I’ll most likely noodle over the weekend and post Mondays.
What will the free subscribers get? No idea. We’ll find out together. You’ll probably see my latest AI-assisted “art.”
What does a paid subscription buy you? All of the “AI secrets.” Seriously? It’s probably a bit early to discuss a paywall. Let’s see if this lasts a week. Then another week ...
4. Incorporate an image and include buttons for subscribing.
“A picture will look nicer when you share the post on your social media.”
I totally agree. ;) I will most likely post AI generated imagery from Midjourney, animations from GEN-2, and conversations I have with Claude. As in Claude.ai. Claude is a bit more cogent and to the point than even version 4 of ChatGPT. But more on this later if I surpass week one.
Above is an example. I’ll discuss this image and it’s reason for existing in my next post; which will be ported over from my aforementioned lonely blog.
I have been informed the use of “Subscribe” buttons will make it easy for new readers to subscribe to my beloved newsletter with one click. Here you go.
5. Ignore our advice
There is no one true way to go about building a Substack. This is your (our) playground, experiment with it. If I’m having fun, I am told my readers will too.
Okay - here’s another button.
