I'm calling it for 2024.
Edition 23 - This is my favorite use of AI for 2024. I’m calling it in May.
My Favorite Use of A.I.
Nothing will top this over the next seven months. I saw this a bit ago but stumbled onto the YouTube link in the Eleven Labs area in Reddit. Learn Python. Uses GPT4 and Eleven Labs for voice cloning.
Can you spare 1:32 for Sir David Attenborough?
Have some free creative.
The above is a paid/earned media opportunity to show your brand as culturally “A.I. savvy." Some scrappy agency should lock this guy up on a multiple spot commercial deal.
The first :30 - quick setup on what this is, and then have him or better yet a strong improv/actor interrupt him with Sir David Attenborough narrating the play-by-play.
Maybe two more :30’s, then :15’s and :10’s by the truckload. And when you’re done, hire this guy as your creative technology lead.
The first agency that takes me up on this owes me a case of Diet Coke.
Could it possibly be worse than this?
Three Things to Watch
1. “A battle might be brewing as talks swirl of OpenAI working on a search engine to challenge Google’s dominance”
My Google AD Words!!!
techradar May 3, 2024 (2 days ago)
A projected announcement date of May 9th appears aimed at upstaging the Google I/O 2024 annual developer conference that will be held May 14th, 2024.
Open AI CEO Sam Altman has spoken about creating a more encompassing search experience that’s more comprehensive than what current search engines offer, and if it has enough novelty and appeal, it could pose a substantial challenge to Google’s search supremacy.
Why this matters: This could get real. Real like when Google came out of nowhere and killed off the paid search engine industry. Stroll down memory lane to what a pre-Google world looked like.
But can anyone out-google, Google? It’s difficult to kill off companies once they make the noun-to-verb transition1.
2. Red Lobster Uses AI to Write 30 Songs About Cheddar Bay Biscuits
The headline says it all. We have three choices here.
3. Anthropic Launches Enterprise and iOS app.
My main man Claude is headed to an iPhone near you. Claude.ai I have found to be a more concise writer than ChatGPT. I just hope he and Siri will get along. I believe the mobile application of truly A.I. tech will accelerate development and adoption in new ways - mostly automating mundane day-to-day chores and queries (and the end of the world). jk
Have a great week everyone.
